Tiger Gaming Review
Hello and nice to meet you! I’m a huge fan of online poker, and I will be updating this blog on a regular basis with poker articles. Today I will write about Tiger Gaming, an online poker site on the Action Poker network.
Tiger Gaming features a clean looking site that is easy on the eyes. The deposit bonus is huge and the support is very useful when you have a problem. What makes Tiger Gaming unique from other sites is that it hosts a few special games that you can’t find in any other poker room. These include the “poker” game of Guts (very loosely called poker), the classic card game Big 2, as well as Chinese Poker and Pan. This isn’t a casino so there’s no blackjack download here, but if you are a fan of any of these other games, then this is the place to be.
In addition to the unique games mentioned, Tiger Gaming offers Limit and No Limit Holdem, Omaha and extremely low traffic 7 Card Stud tables.
Tiger Gaming has opted to focus their advertising in Canada, telling people to download free poker in commercials on various TV networks. It looks like they thought that Canada is an untapped poker market. Because of this, many of the players on the site are Canadian, and they don’t have lot of experience at the game.
Traffic is definitely an issue, most noticeably at levels higher than 50NL. If you’re new to money poker sites, though, finding a table at $2 NL up to $25 NL is usually very easy. You will usually have three to six 25NL tables to choose from, for example. If you want to play 50NL, it’ll be a little bit trickier. You will usually only find one table, maybe two if it’s your lucky day. Finding no-limit games higher than this is next to impossible. It is a rare day when there is a 100NL table available. They offer $1000NL games but I’ve never seen it run, so if you want stakes that high, you should check out Daniels Room poker instead.
Another bad thing about this site is that there isn’t a lot of traffic for non-Holdem games. They offer Seven Card Stud tables but nobody, literally nobody, plays them. Omaha has similar problems. At most you will find one or two tables filled, and it’s usually Pot Limit with 20 cent blinds. If your game of choice is not Texas Holdem, it might be a better choice to go with a PokerStars download. As for the exotic games, you’ll almost for sure find them running during peak hours. Because Tiger is the only site that offers these games, the traffic is reasonable. The classic gambling game of Guts typically runs two or three tables at once, and the minimum bet is usually from 10 to 50 cents.
To sum it up, the player base on Tiger Gaming is okay if you are a lower stakes player, but it’s also nothing to write home about. If you are just starting out with poker, you should first increase your bankroll at Tiger and then plan to move to a Full Tilt Poker download when you want to play higher stakes.
I hope you enjoyed my blog today! In a couple weeks I’ll consider the interface at Tiger.
